Didn't I Warn You (A Bad for You Novel) Mass Market Paperback – 24 May 2016

4.3 out of 5 stars 130 ratings

Not everything dangerous is bad.

From the moment Angelina laid eyes on him, she fell into a fantasy. Mysterious, foreign, gorgeous, Haithem offered her what she needed most—a chance to feel again.

But Haithem is much more than he appears to be. He lives in a world of danger where everything comes at a price.

For Angelina, that price is her future.

He's made sure the life she's left behind is in tatters. Made her family believe she's dead. He talks about protecting her, about keeping her safe, but she can't distinguish his truth from his lies. She can't separate her pleasure from his betrayal.

Haithem warned her. He told her he'd make her heart race, her body come alive, and her most primal needs rush to the surface. His for the taking.

He didn't say she'd come to love the devil who's destroying her, even as he keeps her prisoner.

Wow, I bought this book expecting the usual but, oh my god, it is so much more! Hot and steamy, yes, but the beauty of this book is, nothing is rushed, the sex is very well written, the story well written in such a way you cannot put it down. Absolutely loved this book and am now off to read Didn't You Promise right now lol

I spent the day reading this book as I couldn't possibly put it down.
Thank God for days off so I could binge read it.
There's so much mystery and suspense in this book it keeps you turning those kindle pages and before you know it you have come to the end of book 1 and I can't wait to read the second part of this book.
This book is very well written and the flow is perfect.
Angelina and Haithem definitely kept me hooked on this book.
Angelina was a little naive at first but as I read on it all made perfect sense and Haithem is the mysterious stranger she is mesmerised by.
I highly recommend you one click it straight away.

This is a good book. It has a great story. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed from start to finish, it really drew me in. The chemistry between the characters is great and I love the way they interacted with each other. This book is really worth your time and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. I'm really looking forward to reading from this author again.

While set in an Australian harbour city, this tale could fit many locations. It's an odd romance story following a girl who has just left college and is hoping to get a reporting job. Everything that occurs seems to me to be totally unrealistic from the outlined, proposed article to the events that follow. So just read it as an escapist and slightly erotic fantasy.

Angelina gets leered at for thirty minutes in a café by a strange man. Not having the sense she was born with, she decides to stalk him but doesn't do very well. Another strange man pulls up in a car and tells her to get in and he'll take her to Haithem, since she's so interested. Lesson one: girl, do not get in the car. It was true when you were a child and it's still true now. She doesn't tell anyone where she is going. Lesson two: tell someone where you are going. She gets on board a luxury yacht with nobody else in sight but armed guards. Lesson three: girl, do not get on a yacht with strangers who could dump you overboard in shark-infested waters a mile offshore.

Meeting a man of Middle Eastern appearance, our heroine never makes the obvious conversation by asking where he's from. Why not? She doesn't wonder if all this suspicious activity means he's a terrorist. Why not? By the time Angelina realises she should have been more careful she's in a precarious situation. We don't get a good impression of Haithem until extremely late in the tale, which, I have to say, makes it all the harder for us to understand why Angelina would want to meet him or find him sexy. I did find the ending interesting and a well-thought out motivation.

There's an element of suspense and of erotic romance which is well done and plenty of nice setting detail. As the title implies we could read this as a warning - what not to do. I'm classing it as a New Adult story because of Angelina's obvious inexperience and because it is an adult read.
I received a copy for an unbiased review.

Didn't I Warn You,  Amber Bardan

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

    Genre:  Romance

*This  is book one, with book two due later this year. I’m assuming its just the two parts. I do wish authors would tell readers how many parts make up the whole story. I’m so cautious now after having got caught in the Crossfire  Trilogy fiasco  where the day the final novel, book three, was released so was the news that it had been changed to a five book story. I returned book three, didn’t want to wait unspecified time and pay unspecified sums for the next two books! * And that’s my rant over ;-)

So here we have a story that kept me guessing, it seems Haithem is hot, delicious and dangerous. Just what had he done, just what had poor Angelina got herself mixed up in? What was her history? Its clear there’s a lot about her we don’t know that affect the way she is now. who is Josh? And what does he mean to her? Its all questions, questions, questions and each time we get hints at the answer of one it feels like it paves the way for two more. Great fun, I like being kept guessing.

Loved Angelina, but I wasn’t totally convinced of her actions. The magazine interview – would anyone really make up that on the fly? And expect to be able to do it when she knows nothing except the person’s name? How did she expect to be able to contact him? She got lucky in a way, or maybe unlucky....She’s definitely a mixed up girl, haunted by past events, trying to find herself. Then she meets Haithem, he paves the way forward for a new direction.
Haithem, Mr deep, dark and delicious....he smoulders with sensuality, drips sex just from his voice. Angelina goes weak at the knees when he speaks, but no – I can’t bring myself to use phrases like Pantie wetting, Pantie melting, I hate them! Ladies wear knickers, not panties, that sounds so mealy mouthed and twee....( and men wear trousers not pants!!) and who really carries around spare knickers all the time? I hate this constant thing where every little sound or gesture makes ladies wet...I hope I don’t have to sit where they’ve been sitting :-) Anyway, damp knickers aside, he’s suspicious of Angelina turning up where he is, three times in one day, so gets his partner Karim to invite her to the yacht, where they plan to see what she’s up to.
They’re convinced she’s a spy, so she thinks now is not a good time to tell him about the planned magazine expose, light hearted though it might have been! They have a few words and...somehow she ends up on the yacht once they’re at sea. She must be the most accident person going. When they find her of course they don’t believe it was an accident, so they’re even more convinced she’s hiding something.
Its odd though how quickly Angelina and Haithem go in to some kind of flirting, semi sexual relationship, and yet both convinced the other is up to something and don’t trust them. I enjoyed the way the story slowly revealed what was going on, how their relationship changed, how we finally learned what had happened to Angelina and made her the person she is, what Haithem was doing and what had prompted it – and it certainly wasn’t what I thought!

Its a fun read and I’m looking forward to book two. Its got plenty of heat in, but its not sex at first sight, rather something that develops from their enforced closeness. Fits the novel perfectly and is just the right amount of sex v story balance

Stars: Four and a half, that beginning was just a bit too unlikely for me to go five.

5.0 out of 5 stars Erotically charged...AND an amazing plot...

All boxes are checked off and I was surprised how good this actually was! Found this new (to me) author when I received an email that it was on sale.Suspenseful borderline dark, erotic romance with non con ,"captive" elements ,mystery, intrigue and danger on the high seas...with well written with well developed characters(albeit maintaining an air of mystery with Haithen) ,what more could a girl like me ask for? And part two ready and waiting for me! I am rarely willing to jump outside the bounds of my KU membership, but this one I worth it ! Loved it and off to book 2 now.
Plus,I am happy to see that Amber has another title under KU and will move onto that after completing this series! Thanks Amber!

5.0 out of 5 stars great storyline & heat

This was my first book by Amber Bardan and I already can't wait to read more!! This book had it all for me suspense, great storyline & heat!

Angelina and Haitham chemistry was there from the moment they met but, after she goes back to his yacht her nerves get the best of her and she leaves, or so he thought. Now the option to leave is no longer in her hands!!

This book was so good and had me on the edge of my seat, I devoured it in one sitting and already can't wait for the next in the series!!
